Yesterday, 12 January, from 9:00 a.m., applications could be submitted to bring workers to Italy and employ seasonal subordinate workers in the agricultural sector. This marked the first click day under the 2026 flows decree, a key step in addressing the growing demand for labour in agriculture.
Following the click day, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies carried out a first allocation of quotas reserved for entries for seasonal subordinate employment in agriculture. The distribution was made at provincial level, through a fully digital procedure.
In detail, 40,075 quotas have been allocated in this initial phase, distributed across the country in accordance with the criteria set out in the decree.
The quotas not allocated at territorial level remain available to the Ministry of Labour which, after fifty days, will proceed with a new allocation based on the applications received by the Immigration One-Stop Shops. These requests will be reported to the Directorate-General for Migration Policies by the Territorial Labour Inspectorates, allowing for a distribution that better reflects the actual needs of agricultural businesses.
While the click day system remains central to the management of entry flows, it is now accompanied by a subsequent rebalancing phase, designed to optimise the use of available quotas and respond more effectively to the real needs of the agricultural sector.
