The Philippine Azkals won against Tajikistan’s Persian Lions in the 2012 AFC Challenge Cup group stage match held in Kathmandu, Nepal. The game ended with a score of 2-1.
The 2 goals were courtesy of Phil Younghusband and Angel Guirado.
The win makes the Azkals advance to semifinals together with Korea, Palestine and Turkmenistan.
The Azkals has indeed made football history by getting through to the semifinals. Their first semifinal match will be against the team from Turkmenistan which will be held on Friday, March 16, 2012, at 4:30 PM.
