Milan – A young Filipino man was arrested Monday afternoon in Milan after allegedly threatening and assaulting his ex-girlfriend, following the intervention of the Local Police.
The incident occurred in Viale Enrico Elia, where officers on patrol were alerted by the sound of a young woman crying and shouting. When they arrived at the scene, they found a man violently grabbing and shaking the girl. Police immediately intervened and stopped the suspect.
During the check, officers noticed bruises on the victim. A search of the young man revealed that he was carrying a kitchen knife.
According to initial reports, the suspect is a Filipino citizen born in 2006 who had been in a relationship with the girl for about two months. The victim, a minor and a student, reportedly met him at a party where he initially appeared friendly. However, she later decided to end the relationship due to what she described as increasingly possessive and controlling behavior.
Investigators say the young man allegedly threatened to release an intimate video of the girl if she refused to get back together with him. He then arranged to meet her in Viale Enrico Elia, where the confrontation took place.
After the police intervention, the girl was taken to the Mangiagalli Clinic for medical examination. Once discharged, she filed a formal complaint together with her parents, reporting ongoing harassment and abuse.
When questioned by officers, the young man claimed that the knife was intended for cutting food during lunch after work. However, police later discovered that he was currently unemployed.
The suspect was subsequently taken to San Vittore prison, where he is being held on charges of stalking and violence while the investigation continues.
Authorities reminded the public that victims of threats or domestic abuse are encouraged to report incidents immediately to law enforcement, so that timely protection and assistance can be provided.
