Tinanggal na ang deployment ban at maaari ng ipadala ulit ang mga OFWs sa Guinea.
Enero 27, 2016 – Maaari ng magtungo sa Guinea ang mga overseas Filipino workers (OFW) matapos alisin ng Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) ang deployment ban sa bansa sa West Africa.
Sa Resolution No. 2, Series of 2016 na nilagdaan Enero 22, 2016 ay pinahihintulutan na ang mga OFW at maaari na ngayong ipadala sa Guinea matapos ang desisyon ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) na ibaba ang crisis alert level mula 3 (voluntary repatriation phase) sa 1 (monitoring phase).
“The POEA Governing Board, in a meeting duly convened, resolves as it is hereby resolve, to lift deployment thereto of all Filipino workers, to include both vacationing and new hires, subject to the issuance of appropriate advice to Filipino workers therein to take precautionary measures during their stay in the said country, which is under alert level 1” ayon sa resolusyon.
Matatandaang noong Mayo 16, 2015 ay pinagbawalan ng POEA ang mga OFW na bumiyahe sa Guinea, Sierra Leone at Liberia matapos iulat ng tatlong bansa ang outbreak ng nakamamatay na Ebola virus disease (EVD).
