MANILA, Philippines – A 24-year-old University of the Philippines (UP) magna cum laude graduate was crowned Bb. Pilipinas Ms. Universe 2011 at the Araneta Coliseum on Sunday evening.
Shamcey Supsup, who finished B.S. Architecture from UP Diliman and topped the June 2010 Architect Licensure Exam, beat 39 other candidates for the title. She is also a high school salutatorian from the Makati High School.
Supsup, stands 5’7″ and is from General Santos City. She will represent the country in the Miss Universe contest to be held in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
Bicolana beauty Diane Necio won Bb. Pilipinas Ms. International, while Isabella Manjon took Bb. Pilipinas Tourism.
Mary Jean Lastimosa took 2nd runner-up while Janine Tugonon won 1st runner-up.
Best in Swimsuit was won by Queenierich Rehman, while Luzelle Felipe took the Best in Long gown title.
Based on text votes which closed on Sunday at 7 p.m., the “People’s Choice for the Face of Bb. Pilipinas 2011” went to Angelia Ong.
