Inilunsad ang Blood, Sweat & Cheers pagkatapos ng LSE13 graduation ceremony.
Roma, Mayo 10, 2013 – Ito ang titolo ng librong nagtataglay ng kasaysayan ng 10 Overseas Filipino Workers (Ofws), ng kanilang paglalakbay mula pagdadalamhati at kawalan patungo sa kagalingan, panibagong pananaw at lakas para sa bagong pamumuhay, trabaho at pakikisalamuha.
Ito ay inilunsad noong nakaraang April 14, sa Colleggio Filippino sa Rome makalipas ang graduation ceremonies ng Batch 13 ng kursong Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship (LSE) Program hated ng Associazione Pilipinas OFSPES sa pakikipagtulungan ng Ateneo de Manila School of Government (ASoG), Embahada ng Pilipinas sa Italya at ng Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO at OWWA).
Ang nasabing okasyon ay dinaluhan ni Kagalang-galang Ambassador Virgilio Reyes at ang kanyang maybahay, ang ASoG Dean Antonio La Vina at si Welfare Officer Loreta Vergara.
Ang mga sumulat, lahat ay pawang mga LSE students, ay nakapiling din sa araw ng paglulunsad at nagbahagi ng kanilang mga karanasan sa kanilang paglalakbay bilang migrante. Kabilang sina Rhoda Amodia, Hazel Ycaza, Mary Jane Cruzat, Roscelle Ventura, Thess Borje, Marieta Gonzales, Rizalina Almoneda, Leo Virtucio, Renato Gipan, Ronie Hernandez bilang mga contributors sa nasabing libro.
Mainit na tinanggap ng mga panauhin ang BLOOD, SWEAT & CHEERS matapos ipakilala ni Kim Viray, isang LSE student at Associate Editor.
“I salute and thank all the authors for the inspiration and hope that their stories bring to other overseas Filipinos so that they too can move out of their situations of helplessness or hopelessness; from being victims to actively choosing to do something positive; from reaction to pro-action; from stagnancy and status quo to positive change and transformation”, bahagi ng mensahe ni Tina Liamson, ang LSE Program Director at Associate Editor, na binasa naman ni Maris Gavino, ang Pangulo ng OFSPES.
Kabilang sina Mary Alexis Montelibano-Salinas at Edgar Valenzuela bilang mga Associate Editors.
Samantala, patuloy ang LSE sa layuning palalimin ang kaalaman sa larangan ng socio-cultural, political at economic aspects ng mga ofws. Kasabay nito patuloy din ang pagdami ng mga Ofws na nagnanais mapalalim ang kaalaman sa pakikibaka sa buhay sa Italya. Ang hangaring lumikha ng new generations of leaders gayun din ng social entrepreneurs na magdudulot ng malaking pagbabago sa makabagong panahon ang susi sa tuluy-tuloy na programa nito.
Ayon sa mga new graduates, ang LSE ay isang mabisang sandata upang mabago ang pananaw ng mga ofw sa pag-iimpok at pananaw pinansyal at pagharap sa kinabukasan. (larawan ni: Corazon Rivera)
