Milan – Jan 28, 2013 – In honor of Sto. Nino whose feast falls on 20 January this year, Filipinos in Milan once again gathered together on Sunday, 20 January 2013, even in the freezing weather, to celebrate the Sinulog Festival.
A procession was held with the image of the Sto. Nino borne on the shoulders of Filipino men, preceded by men and women dancing in the streets to the tune of beating drums, also holding big and small images of the Sto. Nino.
Also at the procession were Father Alex Vavassori, parish priest of Sto. Nino, Consul General Lourdes S. Tabamo and Vice Consul Helen Anne Sayo of the Philippine Consulate General in Milan.
The celebration was capped by a Holy Mass and snacks of Philippine and Italian delicacies prepared by the parishioners of Sto. Nino.
