Be Financially Successful…Be a Social Entrepreneur…Be a Leader

Rome, August 12, 2014 – LSE or LEADERSHIP and SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP is the flagship program of Associazione Pilipinas OFSPES with the Ateneo de Manila University’s School of Government (ASoG). It seeks to enable the socio-cultural, political and economic empowerment of overseas Filipinos in Italy, particularly the youth, by, among other things, training and building capacities on leadership, financial literacy and social entrepreneurship skills in a migrant context.
The LSE training was initially launched in Rome in April 2008 to empower Filipino migrant workers to proactively address financial and emotional challenges that result from the process of migration. The said training for OFWs has since been expanded with the first in Naples and Florence, the third in Turin and Milan and the fifth batch in Rome that graduated in 2013.
The LSE 24 will be launched at the Philippine Consulate General in Milan on 14 September 2014 while the LSE 25 will be launched at the Philippine Embassy to Italy also on 14 September.
The LSE has gone as far North as Brussels, The Hague, and Paris, in Dubai in the Middle East and Baclaran, Philippines, Hongkong and Macau in Asia.
The LSE in Rome is a perfect example of a partnership among NGOs (Pilipinas OFSPES and UGAT Foundation), government institutions (Philippine Embassy/Consulate, Philippine Labor office-DOLE and OWWA), the private sector (SEDPI), and the academe (Ateneo de Manila University).
The Program continues to be true to its vision of a united, empowered and respected Filipino migrants and their families contributing towards Philippine development.
