As part of the year-long commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of Philippine-Italian Diplomatic Relations, the Philippine Embassy in Rome, in collaboration with Asiaticafilmmediale, presents the "2012 Asiaticafilmmediale: Focus Filippine" from October 5 to 13 2012 at MACRO Testaccio, Rome.
The annual Asian Film Festival will be formally opened with the screening of “Waiting” by Richard Legaspi at 7:15 p.m. and "Oros" by Mr. Paul Sta. Ana on 5 October at 9:00 p.m. Other featured Filipino films, include:
10 October
– “Waiting to Whisper” by Sigrid Bernardo at 5:45 p.m.
– “Diablo” by Mes De Guzman at 6:00 p.m.
11 October
– "Santa Nina" by Mr. Emmanuel Quindo Palo at 6:30 p.m.
12 October
– “As he Sleeps” by Sheron Dayoc at 4:00 p.m.
– “The Passenger” by Mario Celada at 4:30 p.m.
– "Amok" by Mr. Lawrence Fajardo at 5:00 p.m.
One of the highlights of the festival is the Homage to Raymond Red with the screening of his works such as:
– "Shadows" & "Manila Skies" on 6 October, 9:45 pm
– "The Yawn" and "Study for the skies" 8 October, 5:00 pm
– "The Eternity" 11 October, 4:00 p.m.
A meeting with the celebrated filmmaker will also take place immediately after the screening of "The Eternity." Director Red will also join other Filipino filmmakers at a forum on 13 October at 4:00 p.m.
The Asiaticafilmmediale, in cooperation with Istituto Luce and RAI Teche, will also turn over to H.E. Ambassador Virgilio A. Reyes, Jr. film archive materials as a donation to the Philippine Government at the closing ceremony of the film festival on 13 October.
All films have Italian subtitles. Admission is FREE.
