Philippines participates in L’Artigiano Crafts Fair in Milan

Milan, December 20, 2013 – The annual L’Artigiano Crafts Fair was held in Milan from 1 to 8 December 2013 at the huge Fiera Milano exhibition halls. The lone Philippine participant was Unijel International Trading Inc. led by Ms. Lucia de Belen. Unijel manufactures fashion accessories and costume jewelries made of local materials such as shells, wood and fibers.

L’Artigiano Crafts Fair, a much-awaited Milan pre-Christmas flea market, is famous for its wide variety of goods sold from all over the world. The Fair is open to the public for free, and has an Asian, American, European and African sections carrying food and merchandise unique to the respective regions. Countries like Syria, Cuba and Afghanistan were also represented through their local merchants. In the Asian section, India, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia dominated the area with their numerous stalls of various products.

The Philippine Consulate visited the Unijel booth on Saturday, 7 December, to see the response to the goods on sale and greet Ms. De Belen and her team. The latter reported the interest and enthusiasm of buyers for the Philippine designed and produced fashion wares.
