Rome, July 30, 201 – The Philippines will be joining for the first time the international film festival L'Isola del Cinema 2.0, (XX Edition) on Friday, 01 August 2014 and Saturday, 02 August 2014.
The following will be shown free of charge during the film festival:
“L’Isola del Cinema began in 1995, the year of the Centenary of Cinema, with the dream of transforming l'Isola Tiberina (that the ancient Romans called "Insula Romae") to a Living Room Cinema and Culture” Mr. Giorgio Ginori, the Artistic Director said during the official press launch of L’Isola del Cinema 2.0 on June 25.
Rome welcomed countries from all over the world, thereby promoting an intercultural exchange.
Since then, more than one hundred countries have already joined the yearly film festival, and this year, together with the Philippines, countries like Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Catalonia, Ecuador, Japan, Israel, Norway, Peru, Poland, South Africa, Venezuela, will also be participating in the L’Isola del Cinema XX edition.
Isola Tiberina is located at Piazza San Bartolomeo All’Isola. There are four areas in which the films will be shown: the Sala Arena (with the big screen which can accommodate 500 people) the Sala Cinema Groupama (an indoor area), the Schermo Tevere (an open-air structure), and the Sala dell’Assunta (located withi within the Fatebenefratelli Hospital).
